Just Keep Swimming
The Michigan State University swim and dive program was terminated on Oct. 22, 2020. After 99 years of the men's swimming program, and 55 years of the women's, there was no place to call home for the 70+ swimmers that embodied the Spartan spirit. Members of the team were devastated, as a major part of their identities were stripped away from them in an instant. Despite being “blindsided” by MSU administration, the team competed in the club nationals competition the following year and won over 20 events, along with CCS records, meet records, a Women’s High Point award and a Men’s High Point Award.
